Job Overview
We seek a knowledgeable Mobile Application Tester with 4 to 10 years of experience to join our Hyderabad team. The ideal candidate will manage both manual and automated testing processes to ensure superior quality, performance, and user experience for mobile apps on Android and iOS platforms.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and analyze requirements, then develop comprehensive test strategies including plans, scenarios, and cases for mobile apps.
- Conduct manual testing across Android and iOS devices.
- Carry out various testing types such as functional, regression, smoke, sanity, user acceptance, and exploratory testing.
- Validate mobile-specific functionalities including push notifications, app installation/uninstallation, device compatibility, network variations (2G/3G/4G/5G/Wi-Fi).
- Examine UI/UX elements, gestures, screen resolutions, and device orientations.
- Perform compatibility assessments across multiple devices, operating system versions, and screen dimensions.
- Record, monitor, and retest defects utilizing tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, and Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and designers within Agile or Scrum environments.
- Execute API testing to verify mobile-backend interactions.
- Assess application performance, stability, and battery consumption.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Proven expertise in testing Android and iOS applications.
- Understanding of mobile application life cycles and design guidelines such as Material Design and iOS Human Interface Guidelines.
- Comfort with real device and emulator/simulator testing environments.
- Hands-on experience with test management software (JIRA, TestRail, ALM).
- Familiarity with API testing tools including Postman, Charles Proxy, and Fiddler.
- Experience using device cloud platforms like BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, and Firebase Test Lab.
- Automation experience preferred, particularly with Appium for Android and iOS platforms.
- Knowledge of Selenium integrated with Appium, and testing frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, and Cucumber.
- Exposure to continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Basic programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
Additional Skills (Nice to Have)
- Mobile performance testing skills using tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Understanding of mobile security testing concepts, including OWASP Mobile Top 10 vulnerabilities.
- Experience with offline and online data synchronization testing.
- Certification such as ISTQB or mobile testing credentials is advantageous.
- Background working in Agile/Scrum driven projects.
- Domain experience in banking, e-commerce, healthcare, or fintech mobile applications.
