AUM Advisors is a strategic investor relations and capital markets advisory firm that assists companies with U.S. listings, de-SPAC transactions, and Nasdaq readiness.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Media Relations Associate focused on obtaining media placements for our diverse clientele, ranging from pre-IPO companies to Nasdaq-listed entities, across broadcast, financial, and trade media outlets.
Key Responsibilities
- Pitch and secure media placements for clients involved in capital markets activities including broadcast, financial, and trade press outlets.
- Develop and nurture relationships with journalists, producers, and editors specializing in capital markets and specific trade sectors.
- Compose press releases, media pitches, corporate blog articles, opinion editorials, and executive bylines.
- Lead the social media strategy and create thought leadership content for clients' executives and corporate profiles.
- Support the production of materials for AUM’s conferences and thought-leadership events, including international SPAC summits in Japan and Europe.
- Work collaboratively with senior investor relations advisors to ensure messaging aligns with client brand identity and capital markets targets.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 2 to 3 years of experience in media relations, financial public relations, journalism, or related disciplines, with proven success in securing media coverage.
- Exemplary writing and pitching skills, capable of simplifying complex financial and capital market topics into engaging stories for journalists.
- Able to manage multiple client accounts and meet deadlines simultaneously.
- Expertise or the ability to rapidly learn sectors like AI, quantum computing, cleantech, defense technology, and fintech.
- Preference for candidates based in New York City; however, applicants anywhere in the U.S. working remotely will be considered.
Compensation and Application
