Mechanical Design Engineer – Doha, Qatar

About the Role

We are an established engineering consultancy based in Doha, seeking a dedicated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The position focuses on supporting the design and implementation of mechanical building services, coordinating with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective, sustainable engineering solutions for various projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in designing mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
• Prepare comprehensive mechanical drawings, calculations, reports, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate closely with architectural and structural teams to develop design concepts.
• Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, with Revit or BIM experience considered a plus.
• Ensure all designs comply with local regulations, international standards, and project-specific requirements.
• Support the preparation of tender documents, material submittals, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to guarantee seamless integration of mechanical systems within projects.
• Assist senior engineers in resolving technical challenges during both design and construction phases.
• Participate in site inspections to verify proper implementation of mechanical designs.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2 to 3 years of experience working in mechanical (HVAC/building services) design within a consultancy environment.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit or BIM is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems is required.
• Knowledge of international codes and Qatar-specific standards is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills coupled with effective problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and collaborative teamwork skills.
• Candidates should currently reside in Qatar or be open to relocation.
