Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to oversee routine maintenance and upkeep of our residential communities in various locations across Dublin, including the Canvas site. Responsibilities involve general repairs, ensuring health and safety compliance, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for residents. The role offers a starting annual salary of €32,000, based on experience, with potential participation in on-site bonus schemes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance on buildings, including apartments, communal zones, plant rooms, and outdoor areas to a high standard.
• Identify and address maintenance issues promptly through the site's electronic maintenance platform.
• Carry out fundamental tasks including plumbing, carpentry, painting/decorating, minor electrical repairs, and general handyman activities.
• Ensure adherence to Irish health and safety protocols, including routine fire alarm and emergency lighting tests, as well as site safety inspections.
• Maintain detailed records of statutory inspections such as PAT testing and weekly fire alarm checks.
• Oversee refuse and recycling zones, keeping all communal areas clean, hazard-free, and secure.
• Assist with key management and ensure building security at all times.
• Support resident move-ins and move-outs, refurbishment projects, and unit turnover cleaning as needed.
• Coordinate and supervise external contractors and service providers, verifying required permits and risk assessments are in place.
• Manage inventories of maintenance supplies and materials.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency maintenance outside normal hours.
• Report any accidents, incidents, or safety risks in compliance with internal protocols and Irish law.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a reasonable general education background, ideally equivalent to O’ Level/GCSE, with strong written and numerical competencies.
• Familiarity with health and safety standards on site is essential.
• Hold a recognized trade certification, such as a Building Crafts Operative Certificate, City and Guilds, or NVQ related to building trades.
• Experience in domestic repair and maintenance or roles as a general builder, plumber, electrician, or carpenter is necessary.
• Fluent English communicator with professional and friendly demeanor to engage well with colleagues and residents.
• Demonstrate teamwork skills and the ability to work independently while delivering cost-effective repair solutions.
• Skills in supervising contractors and suppliers, strong organization, and task prioritization capabilities in a dynamic work setting are advantageous.
