Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift)

Overview

This role involves performing a wide range of tasks aimed at installing, maintaining, and repairing production machinery and plant equipment, primarily during the 2nd shift.

Key Duties

• Carry out emergency repairs on production equipment during manufacturing operations and conduct scheduled maintenance during machine service times.
• Execute machinist-related tasks and mechanical work covering electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, as well as troubleshooting and fixing issues on production machinery.
• Consult equipment manuals and work orders to accurately perform required maintenance and servicing.
• Identify faults by diagnosing problems, replace or repair necessary parts, conduct tests, and adjust machinery accordingly.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance for machines, equipment, and facility infrastructure.
• Execute various plumbing and carpentry maintenance tasks utilizing hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling devices.
• Recognize defective materials or operations and report abnormalities to supervisors promptly.
• Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and ensure workplace organization and cleanliness.
• Utilize the Maintenance CMMS system to print preventive maintenance work orders and close completed ones or coordinate with the Facilities Manager.

Additional Duties

• Ensure proper storage of spare parts for critical equipment in designated locations including the compressor room for compressors, driers, and generators, and above the maintenance shop for others.
• Notify the Facilities Manager when stock levels fall to facilitate reordering.

Skills and Knowledge

• Possess basic literacy in reading, writing and arithmetic skills typically attained via a high school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Able to comprehend written instructions and information clearly.
• Manual dexterity necessary for operating machinery and computers efficiently.
• Carry out administrative tasks such as managing files and handling paperwork pertinent to maintenance.
• Physical capability to lift weights up to 70 pounds.
• Solid understanding of mechanical equipment and associated machinery systems.
• Experience operating forklifts.
• Prior maintenance experience is required.

Additional Information

• The position includes a 2nd shift hourly differential of $0.60 per hour.
