Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and oversee preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities for Mobile Harbour Cranes (MHCs), spreaders, and their auxiliary systems.
  • Ensure all maintenance procedures comply with OEM guidelines, statutory mandates, and internal terminal policies.
  • Prioritize and resolve defects identified through statutory inspections and examination reports.
  • Plan manpower, spare parts, tools, and task sequences to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Monitor equipment performance indicators and initiate proactive maintenance initiatives.
  • Lead crane technicians, electricians, and mechanics, managing task distribution and shift handovers.
  • Analyze equipment failures, conduct root cause analyses, and recommend corrective measures.
  • Track and evaluate maintenance KPIs, including equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR, and PM/CM ratios.
  • Implement and uphold Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards such as toolbox talks, risk assessments, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Offer advanced technical support for troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of cranes.
  • Collaborate with OEMs, contractors, and external service providers for complex technical repairs.
  • Manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability of critical components while optimizing stock levels.
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and work orders within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Drive continuous improvement projects, including Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Kaizen activities, and process optimization.
  • Facilitate alignment among maintenance, operations, safety, and planning departments.

Candidate Profile

  • A hands-on supervisor with strong technical skills capable of ensuring dependable crane performance maintaining excellent safety and quality standards.
  • A continuous improvement mindset that brings curiosity about operational workflows and motivation to implement enduring enhancements.
  • HND or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, with ability to interpret technical blueprints and schematics.
  • Familiarity with Siemens Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and their control systems.
  • Proficient in Siemens STEP 7 SIMATIC Manager software and associated tools.
  • Experience working with Siemens SINAMICS drives, including operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • At least 3 years' experience in a supervisory maintenance capacity.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing upkeep programs.
  • Experience managing spare parts criticality and asset maintenance planning.
  • Sound understanding of safety regulations relevant to terminal, port, or industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor team members through structured training to enhance technical knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experienced with CMMS platforms such as IFS, SAP PM, or similar.
