Overview
The Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for managing all maintenance operations to guarantee the effective functioning of facilities, equipment, and building infrastructure. This includes leading maintenance personnel, organizing preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, ensuring adherence to safety rules, and maintaining superior operational performance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate the daily maintenance activities and supervise the maintenance team within the construction sector.
- Develop and carry out schedules for preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Perform regular inspections of the facilities, equipment, and building systems.
- Promptly address maintenance problems and equipment breakdowns.
- Track and evaluate the condition and operation of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Keep detailed maintenance logs, reports, and work plans.
- Collaborate with external contractors and service providers as needed.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Manage the inventory of maintenance tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Provide training, guidance, and performance assessments for maintenance technicians.
- Respond efficiently to emergencies requiring maintenance and implement practical solutions.
- Support efforts to control maintenance expenses and make optimal use of resources.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
- At least three years of maintenance experience in construction or facilities management, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities for technical issues.
- Proven experience managing maintenance teams and liaising with contractors.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and maintenance management software is beneficial.
- Awareness of health and safety legislation and recommended practices.
- Ability to function effectively under pressure and efficiently manage multiple priorities.
