Logistics Officer

Role Overview

We are collaborating with an expanding Asian enterprise entering the UAE market, seeking an experienced Logistics Officer to manage daily logistics and warehouse functions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise handling international inbound shipments from the Asia-Pacific region, managing communications with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless inventory movement from origin to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound shipments from APAC suppliers to the UAE, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely arrivals.
• Engage with international suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers to maintain shipment schedules.
• Prepare and oversee shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
• Monitor shipment progress, addressing delays or customs clearance complications proactively.
• Ensure adherence to UAE import laws and Incoterms.
• Manage day-to-day warehouse operations such as receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatching with the warehouse team.
• Track inventory flow, assist with stock reconciliation, and support cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
• Coordinate last-mile deliveries with local transport, courier services, and third-party logistics providers.
• Communicate effectively with vendors regarding shipment timelines, delivery performance, and operational matters.
• Monitor logistics expenses and aid in verifying related invoices.
• Maintain accurate recording of logistics information and update ERP or warehouse management systems.
• Drive continuous improvements in logistics and warehouse operations, ensuring standard operating procedures are consistently followed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management.
• Proven expertise in managing inbound international shipments from APAC countries.
• Solid understanding of import/export paperwork, customs clearance processes, and international transportation.
• Experience collaborating with freight forwarders, customs agents, and third-party logistics providers.
• Practical knowledge of ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Strong organizational capabilities with aptitude for managing multiple shipment workflows simultaneously.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills across regional teams.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in retail, consumer goods, or e-commerce sectors.
• Familiarity with logistics operations within the UAE or Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) area.
• Hands-on experience with Odoo ERP or comparable warehouse systems.
• Availability to start immediately or with a brief notice period.
