Role Overview
The Logistics Coordinator is essential in managing and coordinating all logistics activities across multiple project sites within a dynamic and large-scale construction environment. This role ensures assets, equipment, accommodation, transportation, site access, and other resources are efficiently tracked and controlled to facilitate smooth project execution.
Primary Duties
- Manage and track assets and equipment to maximize their availability and proper use across sites.
- Maintain detailed and accurate inventory and asset tracking documentation to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Coordinate transportation logistics for project personnel and materials, including vehicle fleet management, scheduling, maintenance, and deployment.
- Operate vehicle booking systems and oversee staff entry permits using relevant platforms.
- Organize site access procedures, security clearances, and ensure compliance with safety protocols across different project locations.
- Arrange accommodation logistics for project teams and allied personnel.
- Act as the liaison among internal teams, contractors, and external suppliers to maintain operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to project logistics standards, safety regulations, and procedures.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly logistics reports.
Required Credentials and Experience
- Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering, a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related disciplines.
- At least 5 years of advancing experience in logistics coordination, asset management, and site support within large infrastructure or construction projects.
- Knowledge of road standards and temporary works design.
- Must be willing to work on-site as required, not exclusively office-based.
- Possession of a valid driving license is mandatory.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with AutoCAD is beneficial.
- Experience working with vehicle booking and staff entry permitting software.
- Strong understanding of full supply chain management, asset inventory systems, site access protocols, and fleet/equipment oversight.
- Awareness of national logistics regulations, customs and transportation procedures, as well as local site security requirements.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities to effectively coordinate between stakeholders under tight timelines.
