Overview
The Loan Recovery Supervisor position involves managing overdue loan accounts in designated regions or provinces, ensuring the recovery team meets loan settlement targets effectively and efficiently. This role requires planning, monitoring, and coaching loan recovery staff to minimize defaulted loans and non-performing loans (NPLs), while demonstrating responsible and motivational leadership.
Primary Duties
- Provide direct supervision and guidance to all loan recovery staff, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Assign default and NPL accounts to senior and junior loan recovery officers timely and according to bank policies to reduce loan defaults and boost profitability.
- Manage team workflow, including scheduling, task delegation, coaching, and performance evaluations to maintain effective operations.
- Facilitate training and coaching around loan recovery procedures based on internal bank policies to strengthen team skills.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, track loan settlements, and ensure targets are met.
- Document minutes of meetings to track actions and ensure follow-up on recovery plans.
- Continuously monitor team performance and provide coaching or feedback to improve individual and team targets.
- Oversee quarterly staff performance reviews, delivering accurate evaluations to management.
- Provide input on the settlement progress and suggest process improvements.
- Track and report recovery status to upper management as required.
- Participate in onsite visits with team members to empower independent case resolution with clients.
- Collaborate closely with lending teams for deep understanding of cases to improve recovery success.
- Report ongoing activities, setbacks, and team issues to line management promptly.
- Address complex client issues along with the team, escalating unresolved matters to higher management where necessary.
- Troubleshoot team challenges to maintain productivity and morale.
- Model constructive communication and feedback culture to foster a productive, open work environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, banking, accounting, or related disciplines.
- At least two years’ relevant experience in banking or financial services with proven loan recovery success.
- Strong abilities in problem-solving, negotiation, and persuasion.
- Patience and emotional intelligence in client interactions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of bank branch operations, lending regulations, laws, and credit risk management.
- Fluency in both Khmer and English for communication.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and banking software systems.
- Effective leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.

This role is based at the head office in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
