Role Overview
As a Learning Architect, you will serve as the initial point of contact for many faculty and staff engaging with Noodle. You will guide faculty through the learning design process and help develop a compelling vision for their academic programs. Collaborating closely with senior designers, project managers, multimedia and technology teams, you will act as the primary liaison between Noodle’s learning teams and the university’s Program Director. Your responsibilities will include defining program requirements, advocating for quality, and promoting programmatic ideals internally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead universities in making critical program and course decisions aimed at achieving complete student retention and graduation.
- Collaborate as a strategic partner with university stakeholders, sharing best practices and innovative approaches from across Noodle’s portfolio.
- Advise Deans and Program Directors on program design, articulating program identity, curriculum alignment, and managing faculty dynamics.
- Coordinate with Noodle’s course build, maintenance, and term preparation teams to clarify program designs, ensure adherence to university-specific elements, and define a unified vision for development.
- Monitor and provide detailed feedback on course development stages to ensure quality meets or exceeds benchmarks and university standards.
- Liaise with build teams and leadership to communicate progress and resolve obstacles efficiently.
- Own the continuous improvement cycle by analyzing data and recommending strategic program enhancements.
- Support onboarding and training of faculty new to online teaching, if selected by the university.
- Represent learning capabilities alongside General Managers across campus engagements.
- Incorporate student feedback into course revisions to enhance student retention and graduation outcomes.
- Occasionally assist with sales and consultation activities to foster new partnerships.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Between 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in roles such as instructional design, teaching, leadership of instructional design teams, or managing projects involving multiple learning designers, preferably within higher education.
- A master’s degree is preferred, or equivalent experience in the higher education sector.
- Willingness and ability to travel periodically to partner universities across the United States.
- Ability to work hours compatible with university partners mostly located in Eastern and Central time zones.
- Strong communication skills coupled with expert knowledge in learning and program design and a deep understanding of university culture and faculty relations.
- Experience with US higher education institutions and online learning, ideally including faculty teaching or management experience.
- Expertise in curricular development, pedagogical innovation, and adult learning theories.
- A "product ownership" mindset, capable of detailed program insight while maintaining a client-focused perspective.
- Proficient in online course development and instruction in both synchronous and fully asynchronous environments.
- Effective workshop facilitation skills that help build rapport and confidence among faculty and program directors.
- Familiarity with research on student retention strategies aimed at high graduation rates.
- A motivated learner willing to grow professionally.
