Laboratory Technician

About the Position

Kinisla is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician for their Newmarket facility in County Cork. This role focuses on environmental and staff swabbing, along with microbiological and chemical analyses within a CLAS accredited laboratory setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct swabbing of factory areas and personnel.
• Maintain detailed records using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Perform routine equipment checks, including balances, incubators, and refrigerators.
• Gain familiarity with the CLAS accreditation standards and processes.
• Carry out microbiological and chemical testing of dairy products.
• Operate various analytical instruments such as Quant NIR for moisture, fat, and salt analysis; Delta Lactoscope for fat, protein, lactose, casein, and total solids measurement; Fluorophos to test phosphatase in milk; Cryoscope for detecting added water in milk; and Neogen Soleris for identifying bacteria like coliforms, Enterobacter, and E. coli in cheese.

Qualifications and Skills

• Possess a third-level qualification in a science-related discipline.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Capable of working independently after completing training.
• Willingness and ability to work on shift rotations.
