Role Overview

The Kitchen Assistant position is a full-time, on-site role in Auckland supporting the daily kitchen operations. Responsibilities include preparing ingredients, assisting with cooking and plating, managing stock levels, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to hygiene and safety protocols. The role requires collaboration with front-of-house personnel to ensure seamless service during busy periods, along with occasional food and beverage assistance. Following standard recipes and procedures efficiently while demonstrating professionalism during every shift is expected.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and assist cooking tasks as directed.
• Plate food items according to established standards.
• Maintain adequate stock levels and assist in inventory control.
• Ensure kitchen cleanliness and sanitary conditions of equipment and work areas.
• Follow hygiene and safety guidelines rigorously.
• Work in partnership with front-of-house staff to facilitate efficient service.
• Provide occasional support with simple food and beverage tasks.

Qualifications and Attributes

• Basic skills in food preparation and kitchen assistance within café or similar environments.
