Kennel Attendant

Overview

Join the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission's Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP) as a Kennel Attendant, playing a vital role in delivering consistent, high-quality care and handling to the dogs housed in the program. Training will be provided to ensure positive and safe interactions, safeguarding the health and welfare of all greyhounds in residence.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive care and professional handling to resident greyhounds within GAP.
• Adhere to positive handling techniques following training to promote animal safety and wellbeing.
• Comply with operational protocols outlined in the official role description, including any license or qualification requirements.

Additional Information

• Applications submitted will remain valid for up to 12 months and could be considered for similar vacancies.
• Employment is contingent upon successful criminal history checks as mandated by the Public Sector Act 2022.
• Applicants must disclose prior serious disciplinary actions if they have been public sector employees, per legislative requirements.
• All staff are required to reveal any conflicts of interest related to their duties under relevant sections of the Public Sector Act 2022.
• Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours as reasonably needed is required.
• Employees must adhere to a strict gambling restrictions policy, prohibiting gambling on racing events domestically and internationally, with full disclosure of gambling accounts.
