About the Role
This position involves conducting advanced cell culture tasks utilizing established human cell line models, including 2D and 3D cultures as well as primary tissues. You'll be responsible for performing in vitro assays such as cytotoxicity tests and applying Omics technologies to assess various toxicological endpoints. Supporting experimental design, data generation, and quality assurance are integral parts of the role. Additionally, the position includes contributing to the development of novel methodologies and optimizing current assays, while collaborating with internal cross-laboratory teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out cell culture procedures using recognized human cell lines in both two- and three-dimensional models and primary tissue samples
- Conduct in vitro testing including cytotoxicity assays and implement Omics technologies to evaluate toxicological effects
- Assist in experimental planning, data collection, and ensuring data quality
- Participate in the advancement of new methods and refinement of established assays
- Support interdepartmental collaborations and studies involving external research partners
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline, alternatively a Bachelor’s with relevant professional experience; Biological Technical Assistants (BTA) with appropriate experience are encouraged to apply
- Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, particularly 3D cell culture models
- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques such as quantitative PCR and viability assays, with knowledge of Omics technologies, especially transcriptomics, considered a plus
- Proficiency using data analysis tools like Excel, GraphPad Prism, with basic knowledge of R or Python being advantageous
- Ability to work independently with experience in planning and conducting scientific experiments
- Fluency in both German and English languages, verbally and in writing
