Role Overview

The Junior Project Manager will manage the daily activities on current job sites, supporting the Pre-Construction Manager and overseeing construction staff, including Site Supervisors, Lead Carpenters, and laborers. This position requires maintaining the operational workflow at job sites such as briefing teams, coordinating with trades, monitoring schedules, and updating clients. Projects are structured to enhance your competence gradually, with strong support as responsibilities increase.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Pre-Construction Manager with project transition and preparation, then independently direct daily site coordination; assigning crews and managing work sequences and priorities.
• Supervise construction teams—Site Supervisors, Lead Carpenters, and laborers—at job sites daily.
• Maintain accurate manpower schedules and update construction management software (Buildertrend).
• Perform quality inspections on site, recording results through photos and detailed notes.
• Serve as the primary daily communication link to homeowners, ensuring they are well-informed and concerns are promptly addressed.
• Monitor logistics including material deliveries, purchase order status, and the documentation of change orders.
• Supervise subcontractor activities on-site and resolve any scheduling or sequence conflicts promptly.
• Enforce strict compliance with safety protocols and personal protective equipment standards on all job sites.
• Provide the General Manager with regular updates on significant project milestones, risks, and overall progress.

Candidate Profile

• Experience or strong enthusiasm for residential construction, site coordination, or leadership in related roles.
• Excellent organizational abilities with capacity to manage multiple ongoing activities on active sites.
• Effective communication skills, comfortable in directing tradespeople and managing homeowner relationships.
• Ability to work comfortably both in the office and on construction sites.
• Valid Ontario driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Competent with Microsoft 365 suite and open to learning new software systems (experience with Buildertrend advantageous).
• Commitment to safety-first practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, WSIB regulations, or local permitting processes.
• Exposure to design-build or custom renovation projects.
• Experience with project management or scheduling platforms.
