Junior Engineer - Testing & Commissioning

Role overview

This position is for a Junior Engineer focused on testing and commissioning work for solar PV plants and substations. The job centers on field execution, electrical verification, and making sure all systems are brought online safely and in line with project requirements and technical standards.

What you will do

• Assist the Commissioning Manager or Lead Engineer in carrying out site commissioning work.
• Test and commission solar PV installations and substation equipment.
• Support commissioning of medium- and low-voltage switchgear, power and auxiliary transformers, current and voltage transformers, circuit breakers, inverters, SCADA systems, related PV equipment, and MV/LV cabling.
• Check AC and DC schemes for switchgear and control panels.
• Perform primary and secondary injection tests for protection systems.
• Use testing tools such as relay test kits, insulation resistance testers, and multimeters.
• Assist with advanced testing activities, including stability checks and sensitivity testing.
• Review control logic, interlocks, and protection arrangements to confirm proper operation.
• Help diagnose electrical and control-related issues and support corrective actions.
• Prepare, update, and keep commissioning records, test results, and documentation.
• Mark up drawings to reflect site changes and as-built conditions.
• Follow all HSE requirements and site safety procedures without exception.

Additional information

The role is with Larsen & Toubro and is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It is a full-time, on-site position.
