About NXT Security & Solutions
NXT Security & Solutions is seeking a Junior Cybersecurity Engineer to assist in the development, evaluation, and management of security controls within our products and internal infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform vulnerability assessments, conduct security audits, and assist with authorized penetration testing.
- Analyze security alerts and suspicious activities to identify potential system weaknesses.
- Support security testing efforts across APIs, web applications, cloud environments, and AI-based systems.
- Develop or enhance scripts, internal utilities, and automated security processes.
- Maintain security logs, document technical procedures, and keep incident records updated.
- Stay informed about emerging cybersecurity threats, attack methods, and defense mechanisms.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to detect risks and propose actionable solutions.
- Contribute to red team activities and help validate security measures.
Candidate Qualifications
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking concepts, Linux operating systems, and web technologies.
- Experience or familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or JavaScript.
- Knowledge of typical security vulnerabilities including authentication issues, injection attacks, access control errors, and misconfigurations.
- Strong analytical abilities combined with effective problem-solving and communication skills.
- Capability to work independently in a remote startup setting.
- Passion for security research, AI-related security challenges, and building dependable systems.
Additional Information
Experience with common security tools such as Burp Suite, Nmap, Git, Docker, cloud services, SIEM solutions, or vulnerability scanning software is advantageous but not mandatory.
This role offers a full-time remote opportunity to engage directly with the NXT team, contribute to meaningful cybersecurity projects, and advance into more comprehensive engineering responsibilities.
