Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate journalist to become part of our newsroom in Winnipeg. If you enjoy telling meaningful stories, have a strong curiosity for current affairs, and love engaging with people in the field, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to French-language news in a dynamic community.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor current events and pitch ideas for reports and articles.
• Attend community events and connect with individuals shaping the Franco-Manitoban landscape.
• Arrange and conduct interviews with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
• Research extensively, fact-check, and cross-verify information to maintain journalistic integrity.
• Compose articles tailored to various publishing platforms.
• Support videographers during field reports.
• Collaborate with editorial staff to develop story packages, share concepts, and enhance news coverage.
• Build and nurture a network of contacts within the Franco-Manitoban community.
