Job Summary
Diversified Maintenance is seeking a Janitor responsible for comprehensive cleaning and upkeep of designated areas within one or multiple client locations. The role demands flexibility in performing various tasks as per client requirements.
Work Schedule and Compensation
The position offers a wage of $12 per hour, with shifts scheduled Monday through Sunday from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of all types of floor surfaces through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- Adhere to safety procedures when using chemical cleaning agents and powered equipment to avoid damage.
- Clean and maintain restrooms, meeting spaces, corridors, and entrance areas.
- Dispose of trash properly, including using compactors as needed.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors utilizing correct cleaners and tools.
- Perform spot cleaning of carpets and aid in carpet extraction and shampooing tasks.
- Restock paper goods and sanitary supplies regularly.
- Follow established housekeeping schedules closely.
- Operate heavy cleaning machines such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuum cleaners, and buffers as required.
- Carry out additional duties aligned with the scope of work or customer requests.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent, or at least six months’ experience in a janitorial role.
- Willingness to undergo on-the-job training.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to comprehend and carry out instructions effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous janitorial or cleaning experience.
- Knowledge of custodial practices and standards specific to commercial cleaning.
- Experience with floor care techniques including buffing and waxing.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance is advantageous.
