IT Systems & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled IT Systems & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, administer, and maintain our hybrid IT infrastructure across Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and on-premises environments. This position is based in Doha, Qatar, working full-time on an outsourcing contract with a 5-day work week and rotational shifts covering 24/7 operations including on-call duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage cloud resources on Azure and GCP, including virtual machines, managed databases, storage services, networking elements, and PaaS solutions.
• Ensure cloud infrastructure deployment and configuration aligns with organizational standards and optimized for cost, performance, and scalability.
• Support hybrid cloud implementations and cloud migration projects.
• Handle Windows Server installation, configuration, administration, and maintenance.
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management services.
• Maintain Microsoft Exchange Online and Microsoft 365 services.
• Oversee virtualization platforms and manage virtual machine environments.
• Deploy new servers, conduct OS upgrades, and manage patching.
• Implement proactive server health monitoring and maintenance.
• Administer storage systems both on-premises and cloud-based, including backup configurations and disaster recovery plans.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and apply corrective measures.
• Generate operational reports on system health and security metrics.
• Respond swiftly to production incidents, troubleshoot issues to restore services within SLA timelines.
• Participate in shift rotations and on-call support schedules, adhering to operational and change management protocols.
• Apply security best practices to both cloud and on-premises environments, working closely with Information Security teams on compliance and vulnerability remediation.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation including architecture diagrams, configuration details, SOPs, disaster recovery plans, runbooks, and asset inventories.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum three years professional experience in enterprise systems administration.
• Proven hands-on expertise managing Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform services.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365/Exchange Online, SQL Server, virtualization, enterprise storage, and backup/disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience working with hybrid cloud infrastructures and enterprise security practices.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Azure certifications, Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Architect, or similar.
• Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize urgent incidents effectively in high-pressure situations.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.
• Self-motivated with aptitude for independent and collaborative work.
• Willingness to engage in rotating shifts and on-call responsibilities.
