Job Role and Responsibilities
The IT Support Engineer role is based fully on-site at Mirantis’ headquarters in Campbell, CA, serving as the primary in-person IT contact for employees, while also offering remote support during U.S. business hours. This position covers a broad scope of end-user IT support including hardware, software, device provisioning, onboarding/offboarding, conference-room and AV technology management, asset tracking, and SaaS platform access based on established internal policies.
- Provide direct IT assistance to users at headquarters and remotely during standard business hours in the U.S., resolving hardware, software, and access-related issues.
- Maintain and configure employee laptops and peripherals per company policies, including repair and replacement activities.
- Manage the logistical aspects of onboarding and offboarding, from equipment distribution to account setup and asset recovery.
- Support conference rooms and AV systems to ensure smooth operations for meetings and events, including executive functions.
- Track and update IT asset inventories, ensuring accuracy and coordinating with the wider IT team for procurement as necessary.
- Deliver responsive, professional IT support for executives, addressing urgent and high-priority requests efficiently and calmly.
- Perform local remote-hands tasks for network and infrastructure teams, mainly around office equipment, occasionally extending to nearby data centers.
- Maintain detailed records for support tickets, asset management, and internal documentation, contributing to knowledge bases and procedural guides.
- Work collaboratively with a distributed IT team, adhering to established support policies and escalating issues appropriately to ensure thorough follow-up.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years’ experience in IT support, desktop support, or helpdesk roles.
- Proven troubleshooting skills for end-user hardware and software involving laptops, peripherals, macOS and Windows OS, and common business applications.
- Experience in device provisioning and administration of SaaS/productivity software such as Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom.
- Knowledge of onboarding/offboarding processes including equipment and account management.
- Hands-on experience supporting AV and video conferencing equipment used in conference rooms.
- Competence in IT asset inventory management and basic procurement coordination.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills capable of supporting executives and managing urgent requests professionally.
- Reliable, customer-focused work ethic capable of operating independently on-site while maintaining strong team collaboration.
- Must be located in or near Campbell, CA, and work exclusively on-site during business hours.
- Ability to follow existing IT policies and decide on issue escalation prudently.
- Desirable skills include familiarity with MDM/endpoint management tools (Jamf, Intune, Kandji), basic networking (Wi-Fi, cabling, switches), IT ticketing software (Jira Service Management, Zendesk), and relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Google Workspace, or ITIL.
