Position Overview
The ISO 22000 Auditor role requires thorough auditing of food safety management systems to verify compliance with ISO 22000 standards. The auditor evaluates hazard analyses, critical control points, and all documentation related to food safety policies and processes, identifying non-compliance or risks and recommending corrective measures. The position involves preparing detailed reports, possibly overseeing testing sample collection, and collaborating with food businesses to improve their systems. Ongoing learning and adapting to regulatory changes are integral to the role.
Primary Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive audits of food safety management systems adhering to ISO 22000 standards.
- Review and assess compliance of food safety documentation and records.
- Evaluate the efficacy of hazard analysis and critical control points procedures.
- Identify non-conformities and suggest appropriate corrective actions.
- Manage sampling activities for compliance verification where necessary.
- Compile and present clear audit reports detailing observations and recommendations.
- Develop and execute audit plans for ISO 22000 adherence.
- Maintain meticulous records of audits and compliance checks.
- Collaborate with food operators to boost understanding of ISO 22000 standards.
- Offer guidance on corrective actions and continuous enhancements.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory updates to ensure up-to-date compliance.
- Propose improvements to audit processes and tools.
- Participate in professional development activities including workshops and conferences.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in food-related or bioscience field, or successful completion of relevant food-focused professional education.
- Minimum of two years' experience in the food industry.
- At least two years’ relevant experience in food safety or quality management, including consulting or auditing in HACCP, QMS, and Food Safety standards, or completion of minimum five audits totaling at least 10 man-days.
- Completion of a HACCP course recognized by the International HACCP Alliance (minimum 16 hours).
- Completion of ISO 22000:2018 training (minimum 16 hours) and Lead Auditor training on Quality Management Systems (minimum 40 hours including exam), or Lead Auditor training on FSMS (ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000) with exam.
- Experience auditing Quality Management Systems or Food Safety standards for a minimum of 20 days.
- Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
