Investment Banking Analyst

About the Role

This position is with a prominent independent advisory firm renowned for its restructuring and special situations practice on Wall Street. The team specializes in advising a diverse range of stakeholders—including debtors, creditors, sponsors—on complex restructuring, recapitalization, liability management, and distressed merger and acquisition transactions both in and out of court. The role offers a rare chance for Investment Banking Analysts at levels 2 or 3 to join a lean, dynamic team where junior members are entrusted with significant responsibility, receive direct interaction with senior leadership, and engage hands-on with sophisticated deals from the outset.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of intricate restructuring, recapitalization, and distressed M&A transactions
• Develop and maintain advanced financial models such as three-statement operating models, liquidity forecasts, recovery and debt capacity analyses, and valuation frameworks
• Create client-facing presentations, marketing collateral, and transaction documentation
• Perform comprehensive industry, company, and capital structure analysis
• Engage actively in due diligence and the execution process of transactions
• Collaborate closely with senior bankers, clients, legal counsel, lenders, and other parties involved
• Assess distressed scenarios and identify strategic options for clients

Qualifications and Skills

• Between 18 and 36 months of investment banking experience
• Background in areas such as restructuring, leveraged finance, financial sponsors, M&A, or special situations is required
• Proficient financial modeling and valuation expertise
• Strong analytical, quantitative reasoning, and problem-solving abilities
• Thrives in fast-paced and high-pressure environments
• Meticulous attention to detail coupled with excellent communication skills
• A clear interest and demonstrated commitment to distressed, special situations, and restructuring transactions
