About the Role
Join Barclays Investment Bank as an Investment Banking Analyst based in Calgary, Alberta. In this capacity, you will assist senior bankers and deal teams in crafting investment banking solutions tailored to corporate clients. Your role involves gaining a deep understanding of clients' strategic aims, financial priorities, and capital necessities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver financial analyses and industry research that supports transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic advisory projects.
- Prepare materials to be presented to clients and contribute to client presentations.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients by comprehending their business needs, financial goals, and industry conditions.
- Identify and develop opportunities to broaden the client base and generate new business avenues.
- Perform comprehensive financial due diligence to assess the financial health and valuation of client companies.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance to draft, review, and maintain necessary transaction documentation.
- Work alongside teams including Capital Markets, Sales and Trading, Research, and Risk Management to provide full-scale client solutions.
- Support energy transition initiatives by engaging clients in climate strategy discussions and sustainable finance where applicable.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience with financial modeling and financial statement analysis including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow evaluations.
- Knowledge and experience within the Oil & Gas or Power & Utilities sectors.
- Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations effectively.
- Demonstrated capacity to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Sound understanding of investment banking methodologies and practices.
Compensation
The role offers a competitive base salary ranging from $125,000 to $170,000 CAD annually. This figure covers base pay and does not include additional compensation or benefits.
