Investment Analyst/Associate

About the Role

This opportunity is with a well-funded private investment platform that follows a long-term approach and manages a varied portfolio across several asset classes in Asia. Supported by a respected family office, the business invests in both public and private markets and works alongside established sponsors, operating partners and management teams to uncover compelling opportunities. The team is expanding and is seeking an Investment Analyst to assist with investment execution across the region.

What You’ll Do

• Carry out financial analysis, valuation work and due diligence on prospective investments spanning multiple asset classes, helping drive the process from initial review through to completion.
• Research markets and industries to spot investment themes, understand trends and assess upside as well as potential downside risks.
• Prepare and update financial models, investment papers and presentation decks for internal investment committee review.
• Track current portfolio investments by reviewing financial results, market movement and key performance drivers, and compile regular portfolio reporting.
• Collaborate with senior investment team members and outside stakeholders during transaction work, including due diligence, negotiations and post-investment oversight.

What We’re Looking For

• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Real Estate or a similar field, together with around 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in investment, corporate finance, private equity, investment banking or consulting.
• Strong ability in analytical thinking and financial modelling, with confidence in assessing opportunities across different asset classes.
• Japanese language ability at native or business level, plus strong English communication skills, as most stakeholders primarily speak Japanese. Mandarin would be an added advantage.
• Previous exposure to the Japanese market is preferred, though not mandatory; candidates with solid investment fundamentals and a genuine interest in Japan are welcome.
• A self-driven, intellectually curious and detail-focused professional who works well with others in a collaborative, entrepreneurial setting.
