Job description

About the Role

Google's Security team aims to develop and uphold the most secure environment possible for its users and developers. In the role of Security Engineer, you will protect network boundaries, secure computer systems and network devices against attacks, and provide security protocols to safeguard sensitive information such as passwords and customer data. You will be actively involved in monitoring for intrusions and collaborating with software engineers to detect and remediate vulnerabilities ahead of exploits. This position is based in Singapore and focuses on scaling security operations and reducing risks via automation and remediation tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement agents and infrastructure to automate the workflow for vulnerability management, including triage and variant analysis, reducing manual processing.
  • Participate in developing a centralized vulnerability analysis pipeline and dashboard to offer actionable insights on emerging security threats.
  • Engage in the local Singapore triage and remediation rotation to reproduce vulnerabilities, assess their severity accurately, and document bugs for incoming security incidents.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate practical experience.
  • At least one year of experience conducting security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling.
  • One year of experience with security engineering concepts related to computer and network security and security protocol design.
  • At least one year of proficiency in coding using one or more general-purpose programming languages.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating or deploying automated tools, such as large language model-based agents, to enhance security processes like triage automation or bug resolution.
  • Experience collaborating across functional or product teams.
  • Background in consulting related to security policies and protocols.
