About Transpower and the Role
Transpower New Zealand plays a critical role in the country's energy sector as both the Grid Owner and System Operator. Our mission is to enable a sustainable energy future for New Zealand by supporting a net-zero carbon economy and ensuring a dependable electricity system.
The Information Management team handles vast corporate and engineering records including over 2,000 SharePoint sites, more than 750,000 CAD drawings, terabytes of 3D models and point clouds, upwards of two million multimedia files, and thousands of boxes of physical archives. We are currently advancing initiatives that involve AI, cloud integration, and enhanced information system tools.
Following an internal promotion, we are excited to add a SharePoint-experienced Information Management Advisor to the Corporate and Engineering Information Management group. This role focuses on offering daily technical guidance and administration support, assisting colleagues across the business to better leverage our information resources.
Responsibilities
- Provide expertise in managing and provisioning the SharePoint environment.
- Implement and support Information Management policies and standards in collaboration with the Enterprise Information Manager.
- Develop and deliver effective training programs to enhance user competence and confidence on our platforms.
- Offer user support to ensure efficient and responsible use of information resources.
- Engage in requirements collection, workflow enhancement, and process design activities.
- Build and apply capabilities with Microsoft Teams, Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI), metadata management, retention and disposal policies, Purview, eDiscovery, auditing, and reporting tools.
Candidate Profile
- Experienced communicator skilled in information architecture and user engagement.
- Proficient in SharePoint site administration, governance, and user assistance.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 applications including Purview and the Power Platform.
- Knowledgeable about public sector information management and applicable legal frameworks like the Public Records Act 2005.
- Familiarity with classification, retrieval, retention, and disposal processes for managing information.
- Proven ability to gather and interpret business needs within large or complex organizations.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and relationship management skills tailored to diverse business audiences.
