Our Grocery Service Centre near Liverpool coordinates various support activities for multiple ABF companies.
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive Hygiene Coordinator for our Hovis Bakeries site in Newcastle Under Lyme. This full-time role operates Monday to Friday from 7am to 3pm and is responsible for leading all hygiene-related activities. Key duties include planning, directing, and monitoring hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, and managing team and contractor hygiene efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily and shutdown hygiene operations, ensuring adherence to schedules and procedures.
- Determine training needs for the hygiene team, conduct shift briefings, and provide feedback.
- Enhance environmental hygiene practices through development and validation, including mould control.
- Coordinate onsite waste removal processes.
- Manage hygiene contractors and liaise with pest control services.
- Maintain thorough documentation to demonstrate compliance and due diligence.
- Supervise hygiene tasks ensuring safety by following Safe Systems of Work, COSHH, and collaborating to improve protocols.
- Organize comprehensive, high-level cleaning activities.
Candidate Profile
- Proficient in PC use with strong administrative skills.
- Experience in customer-facing roles focused on standards is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently, motivate others, and manage organizational priorities attentively.
- Intermediate Food Hygiene qualification preferred but not required; FMCG experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of chemical safety and pest control essential.
- IOSH Managing Safely certification is beneficial.
- Competent with Microsoft Office applications.
