Role Overview
The position of HVAC Commissioning Technician is a full-time, on-site role located in Dublin. Key responsibilities encompass commissioning, testing, and balancing HVAC systems to verify compliance with design and regulatory criteria. Daily tasks involve conducting functional and performance assessments of equipment, gathering and analyzing system data, and diagnosing problems related to air handling units, chillers, boilers, ventilation, and control systems.
Additional duties include preparing detailed commissioning reports, maintaining comprehensive documentation, collaborating with engineers, project managers, and contractors to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges, and assist with corrective measures. The role also requires adherence to safety procedures, active participation in site meetings, and supporting system handover and client training on operation and upkeep.
Qualifications and Expertise
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, building services, and commissioning including testing, adjusting, and balancing procedures.
- Proficiency in using measurement and diagnostic instruments such as manometers, flow meters, and temperature sensors, along with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to identify, diagnose, and fix mechanical and control system faults.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with site teams, clients, and contractors, coupled with the skill to generate clear commissioning documentation and reports.
- Possession of a relevant technical qualification or completed apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, building services, HVAC, or related field.
- Awareness of HVAC and building services standards and safety regulations.
- Capacity to work independently on-site in Dublin, manage time efficiently, and adapt to project changes.
- Prior experience in HVAC installation, commissioning, or maintenance preferred, especially on large commercial or industrial projects.
