Role Summary

This position provides everyday HR support across the employee lifecycle. The advisor will guide managers on people matters and HR policies, handle employee relations issues, help shape and roll out HR processes, and make sure employment practices stay aligned with labour and employment laws. The role also covers recruitment coordination, onboarding, and support for performance and development activities.

Reporting and Work Setup

The role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer. It is ideally suited to someone based within about one hour of the Byron Bay office, although flexible hybrid working is available. This is a project-based contract role and can be structured as either part-time or full-time.

Key Focus Areas

• Provide practical day-to-day HR guidance to leaders and team members.
• Support employee relations matters and help resolve workplace issues constructively.
• Assist with building, improving, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
• Help ensure compliance with relevant labour and employment legislation and best practice.
• Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and people development activities.
• Maintain accurate HR records and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Contribute to a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing culture that reflects the company’s values.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should bring solid HR experience and the confidence to advise leaders and employees in a practical way. Strong knowledge of HR policy, employee relations, and employment law is important, along with the ability to manage conflict, build trust, and communicate clearly at all levels. Good organisation, sound judgement, and strong attention to detail are essential, particularly when dealing with confidential information. Experience in recruitment, onboarding, and performance management is also expected. A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline is preferred, although equivalent professional experience will also be considered. An interest in sustainability and alignment with Seed & Sprout’s mission is highly valued.

Additional Information

This role may be offered on a part-time or full-time basis within a project-based contract arrangement. Flexible hybrid working is available, with a preference for candidates located near Byron Bay.
