Role Overview
We are seeking a Hire Desk Controller to join our Newport depot on a 12-month temporary contract. This role operates from Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 17:00, totaling 42 hours per week. The Hire Controller plays a central role in depot operations, delivering exceptional customer experiences from initial enquiry through to equipment collection, working collaboratively with multiple teams and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage customer enquiries and oversee the entire hire order process.
- Establish and maintain strong customer relationships via effective communication and service.
- Coordinate equipment availability with depot personnel to satisfy customer demands.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, engineers, and stock teams to organize punctual deliveries and collections.
- Resolve customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Support depot efforts to optimize equipment use and operational efficiency.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of hire records and documentation within the system.
- Collaborate with colleagues to meet depot performance and customer service goals.
- Contribute to the implementation of Speedy's ESG Strategy: Decade to Deliver.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in the hire industry or a relevant sales, customer service, or operational position.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with adeptness in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proactive mindset with adaptability in resolving challenges.
- Adept at building and maintaining positive working relationships with both customers and colleagues.
- Motivated towards continuous learning and personal growth.
- Competent computer skills and familiarity with business systems.
- Possession of a full UK driving licence.
