About the Role

Speedy, recognised as the foremost hire provider in the UK supplying an extensive selection of tools, specialist hire equipment, plant, and support services tailored for any job, is recruiting a Hire Controller based in Sheffield depot. This pivotal position involves managing the entire hire lifecycle — from order receipt through to delivery and collection — ensuring seamless coordination among depot teams and a high level of customer satisfaction.

Working Hours and Salary

The role requires working onsite Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 17:00, totaling 42 hours each week. The annual remuneration package is £29,572 pro rata.

Key Responsibilities and Daily Tasks

• Act as a vital operational link, handling hire orders directly from customers.
• Collaborate extensively with various departments including stock, drivers, and engineers to minimize delays and guarantee equipment availability.
• Provide superior front-line sales and customer service to foster strong client relationships.
• Maintain regular communication within the depot to ensure smooth process flow.

Required Skills and Experience

• Valid driving licence.
• Prior experience in the hire industry or in a similar sales or operational function.
