Position Overview
Altocare is looking for a Healthcare Data Coordinator to assist in gathering, verifying, analyzing, and reporting data on operations and outcomes within the organization. This entry-level position is ideal for an analytical professional eager to advance a career in healthcare operations and data analysis. The role supports data integrity across internal systems and provides insights to improve leadership decision-making, operational efficiency, and client care outcomes. A strong proficiency in Excel is essential.
Main Duties
- Communicate with Altocare offices, clients, family members, payors, and providers to validate and obtain necessary information for client records completion.
- Collect, consolidate, and authenticate operational and outcome-related data from internal platforms and external sources, pinpointing gaps or inconsistencies especially regarding client hospitalizations, interruptions, or care terminations.
- Cross-check internal system records to ensure data uniformity and accuracy across various platforms.
- Analyze data to detect discrepancies, identify trends, uncover operational risks, and recognize opportunities for improvement.
- Create comprehensive summaries, reports, and presentations highlighting findings and key insights for leadership and other stakeholders.
- Leverage Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, to organize, evaluate, and report data.
- Employ authorized productivity and AI-assisted tools to optimize work processes while rigorously verifying their outcomes for accuracy.
- Effectively prioritize and juggle multiple assignments, adhering to deadlines and proactively raising concerns or questions with supervisors when needed.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and Altocare privacy policies when handling Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Participate in additional data, reporting, or operational projects as assigned.
Candidate Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel; ability to quickly adapt to new software including Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred or students currently pursuing one are encouraged to apply.
- Ideal for candidates beginning careers in healthcare administration, data analytics, business operations, or related disciplines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, adept at spotting data inconsistencies or omissions.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills with the ability to independently manage multiple demands.
- Exceptional attention to detail with dedication to ensuring accuracy and thorough review before submissions.
- Effective verbal and written communication prowess, comfortable engaging professionally with clients, families, providers, payors, and internal teams.
- Familiarity or comfort using AI-driven productivity assistants (such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) for non-sensitive tasks while respecting data privacy constraints.
- Willingness to learn about and comply with HIPAA requirements and confidentiality protocols regarding PHI.
