Overview
Beechfield Care Group is hiring a Health Care Assistant for Glengara Park Nursing Home on Glenageary Road in Glasthule, Dublin A96 H242. The organisation is an established nursing home provider with locations across Dublin, Carlow, Meath, Westmeath and Kildare, and it is focused on delivering high-quality resident-centred care.
Glengara Park is located in a former Victorian country house with generous gardens, close to Sandycove and within walking distance of the sea. The home values the individuality of every resident and is supported by a dedicated care team, including several long-serving staff members who have been part of the team for more than 10 years.
Role Summary
As a Health Care Assistant, you will be an important part of the multidisciplinary team supporting residents’ day-to-day care. Your role will involve helping to promote independence and wellbeing while giving attention to residents’ physical, emotional and cultural needs.
Key Duties
- Support residents with washing, personal hygiene and dressing.
- Assist with safe manual handling and transfers throughout the nursing home.
- Serve meals and help residents with feeding when required.
- Return used dishes and trays to the kitchen and keep resident areas tidy.
- Make beds and change linen as needed.
- Provide continence care and toileting support, including emptying commodes and changing catheter bags.
- Work alongside trained nurses to provide psychological and social support where needed.
- Maintain constant awareness of residents’ dignity, comfort, safety and location.
- Follow hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.
- Carry out additional duties as required.
