About the Role
The University of Tasmania is looking to engage a Graphic Designer within the Office of Marketing, part of the Student Services and Operations Division. This is a part-time position (0.6 FTE) offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract, based at the Hobart campus. The designer will be responsible for producing and developing marketing materials across digital, print, and promotional channels including posters, flyers, banners, brochures, advertisements, and various documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop compelling marketing campaigns tailored for digital platforms, print media, and promotional contexts.
- Contribute to shaping the University’s visual identity through innovative, brand-aligned design solutions.
- Manage and provide access to relevant graphics, imagery, and content resources to support marketing needs.
- Offer creative insights in designing collateral such as course guides and corporate publications as required.
- Ensure all designs accurately represent information in line with branding standards and comply with internal policies and external regulations.
- Perform various graphic design and typesetting tasks as necessary.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven skill in creating high-quality work with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of brand consistency and experience adhering to brand and visual style guides.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
- Excellent communication skills with experience engaging effectively with students, staff, and external stakeholders at different levels.
- Proficient user of Adobe Creative Suite CC on Mac systems, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator; familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
Additional Details
This role is classified as HEO 5, offering a total compensation package up to $105,665 annually, comprising a base salary ranging from $80,869 to $90,312 plus 17% superannuation. Applications are due by Thursday, 30 July 2026, 11:55pm.
