GIS Mapping Specialist

Job Overview

Cognizant is seeking a skilled GIS Mapping Specialist with over three years of experience in digital mapping and location-based services. The role involves analyzing and interpreting satellite and aerial imagery features, managing mapping workflows, and acting as a domain expert within the project environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret features from satellite and aerial imagery with strong analytical skills.
• Serve as the expert for digital mapping domain, ensuring adherence to project policies and workflows.
• Resolve doubts and queries raised by Operators and Quality Controllers (QCers).
• Maintain proactive communication with Client Subject Matter Experts regarding project specifications, workflows, quality assurance, and quality control methods.
• Manage daily processes, workflows, and the team effectively.
• Provide both written and verbal technical and process support to internal stakeholders.
• Conduct project-specific training sessions when required.
• Perform Meta Quality Control on map layers including vector and raster data.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A minimum of three years' professional experience in digital mapping or location-based services.
• Ability to interpret and analyze satellite and aerial imagery accurately.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with clients and internal teams effectively.
• Capability to oversee process management and maintain quality standards.

Additional Information

• Eligibility: Candidates must hold at least a graduate degree in any discipline.
• Employment Location: Pune, India (on-site).
• Compensation: Annual salary between 600,000 to 650,000 INR.
