Geophysicist / Data Analyst

Job Overview

This role focuses on applying sophisticated seismic imaging techniques and machine learning to facilitate data processing, interpretation, and execution of microseismic projects. Applications involve enhanced geothermal systems, CO2 sequestration, induced seismicity monitoring, sinkhole detection, and monitoring frac-driven well interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze geological and seismic datasets for technical calculations and generate time-depth seismic reports while ensuring adherence to quality control standards in data processing and modeling.
• Utilize advanced seismic data interpretation software and programming skills to manage and exchange data between multiple databases.
• Collaborate with team members to produce thorough technical and project reports meeting company and client requirements.
• Deliver client presentations to clearly convey technical information and project outcomes.
• Occasional real-time fieldwork may be necessary to support project tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Geology, Geophysics, Physics, Engineering, or Applied Mathematics.
• At least 3 years of relevant industry experience preferred; candidates with strong educational backgrounds but less experience may be considered.
• Experience with seismic data systems, geophysical data acquisition, and fieldwork is beneficial.
• Leadership experience overseeing technical teams is a plus.
• Familiarity with seismic processing technologies, workflows, imaging tools, and machine learning/data inversion techniques.
• Ability to operate independently and collaboratively across distributed teams.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Open to remote working arrangements, with Houston-based candidates preferred.
