About Yardstick
Yardstick specializes in boutique suites-only dog hotels focused on personalized care, exceptional service, and creating a calm, thoughtful environment for dogs and their owners. As the company expands across Dallas, it is seeking an experienced General Manager to launch and lead its newest facility in Preston Valley.
Role Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and lead a team of around 12 full-time and part-time employees.
- Foster a team culture emphasizing hospitality, accountability, and compassionate care.
- Manage scheduling, labor costs, and daily operations of the facility.
- Ensure superior customer and guest experiences at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, organization, and overall facility management.
- Handle inventory control, ordering supplies, and oversee facility maintenance.
- Develop community connections through outreach and local partnerships in the Dallas area.
- Collaborate with company leadership on operational improvements and growth strategies.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of five years' experience in leadership or people management roles.
- Strong organizational and operational management skills.
- Excellent communication capabilities and focus on customer service excellence.
- Possess integrity, dependability, and a strong sense of accountability.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, hands-on, fast-moving environment.
- Motivated by growth opportunities and responsible ownership of the role.
- Experience in the pet care industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as the facility operates year-round.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual target salary around $65,000, including performance-related bonuses.

Additional Information
Location is based in Dallas, Texas. The role is part-time and requires working onsite. The business operates 365 days a year, so flexibility in scheduling is required.
