Role Summary
As a General Assistant on the cleaning team, you will help keep the gym spotless, hygienic, and safe across all areas. Your work will contribute directly to a welcoming environment that encourages members to return. This position is for 20 hours per week and suits someone who is careful, dependable, and committed to improving the member experience.
Key Duties
- Perform detailed cleaning across the full facility, including gym floors, equipment, studios, changing rooms, showers, and shared areas.
- Apply sanitising and disinfecting methods to maintain a safe and hygienic space.
- Clear waste, replace bin liners, and follow the correct disposal process.
- Keep an eye on cleaning stock, top up supplies when needed, and alert management when items are running low.
- Work cooperatively with the wider gym team to support a smooth member experience.
- Flag any maintenance or repair issues as soon as they are noticed.
- Consistently maintain the cleanliness and safety standards expected by Everlast Gyms.
What We’re Looking For
Some prior experience in cleaning or janitorial work is helpful, though it is not required because full training is provided. You should be highly attentive to detail, able to work on your own, and comfortable managing your time well. A basic understanding of cleaning methods, hygiene practices, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals is useful, with training available where necessary. Good communication, teamwork, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends to match gym opening times are also important.
