Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking qualified professionals to undertake the role of a Work Capability Assessment (WCA) Functional Assessor at our Leeds location. This position involves evaluating clients who claim benefits by assessing how their disabilities or health conditions impact their ability to work. You will conduct assessments via telephone, video conferences, or in person, listening carefully to each individual's experiences, asking pertinent questions, and compiling detailed factual reports to assist the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in benefit eligibility decisions. Note that the final decision lies with the DWP, not the assessor.
Compensation and Working Conditions
- Competitive starting salary of 39,500 per annum
- Standard working hours Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm
- Options for full-time or part-time schedules, including 3 to 5 days per week
- Hybrid working model with the requirement to be onsite in Leeds when necessary
- Annual leave plus bank holidays, with the flexibility to buy or sell up to 10 additional leave days
- Employer pension scheme participation
- Coverage of NMC or HCPC registration fees
- Support for continuing professional development (CPD) revalidation
Candidate Profile
- Registered nurse with NMC credentials (RGN, RMN, or RNLD) or qualified Physiotherapist, Paramedic, or Occupational Therapist registered with HCPC
- Minimum of one year of varied post-registration clinical experience
- A proactive attitude and enthusiasm for ongoing learning
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Comfortable and capable working with clients presenting a wide range of physical and mental health conditions
- Proficient IT and computer skills
