Role Overview

As a Frontend Engineer, you will be responsible for everything users interact with on our platform. Thousands of students use our system daily to learn, and you will ensure their experience is seamless, fast, and intuitive. You will develop the user interface through which students engage with their AI tutor, complete exercises, and watch explanatory videos, integrating education with technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance our Next.js application.
• Conceptualize, implement, and ship new features end-to-end, collaborating closely with AI and backend engineers.
• Optimize performance to ensure fast load times and smooth interaction.
• Ensure responsive design across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
• Work alongside backend engineers on API design and software architecture.
• Collect direct user feedback, utilize analytics tools, and rapidly iterate improvements.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Extensive expertise with Next.js and React beyond basic knowledge.
• A strong frontend engineering approach focusing on robustness, including proficiency with TypeScript, testing, and logging to deliver production-ready code.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent collaboration skills with designers, AI, and backend engineers, plus contributions to UX and feature quality.
• Advanced CSS skills for swiftly converting designs into attractive platforms and fast, clickable prototypes.
• Experience with AI development tools such as Gemini CLI or Claude Code, maintaining a critical eye on their outputs.
• Architectural insight to contribute to scalable and production-grade feature design including backend considerations.
• Prior experience working in startup environments or on SaaS product development, although this is not a strict requirement.
• Residency in the Netherlands, with preference for availability to work onsite several days per week at the Amsterdam office.
