Role Overview
This is an on-site, full-time position based in Chandigarh, India, for a Freight Broker. The professional in this role will oversee daily freight operations which include sourcing carriers, negotiating payment rates, and coordinating shipments through diverse transportation methods. Responsibilities also involve establishing and nurturing relationships with shippers and carriers, managing load bookings, and tracking shipments to assure punctual deliveries. The Freight Broker will address client inquiries, resolve service problems, provide timely updates, and maintain accurate documentation. In addition, collaboration with internal teams is essential to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong expertise in freight brokerage with skills in carrier sourcing and rate negotiation.
- Proficient customer service and account management abilities to facilitate effective client communication and relationship management.
- Capable of managing dispatch operations including load coordination, scheduling, and transport management.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask efficiently in a dynamic logistics environment.
- Clear oral and written communication skills combined with proficiency in basic computer applications and logistics software.
- Prior experience in transportation or logistics sectors, particularly familiarity with North American freight markets, is advantageous.
- Possession of a diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
