Freelance Graphic Designer

Role overview

The Focus Agency Group is looking for an experienced freelance graphic designer to provide short-term cover for its creative team. This temporary assignment runs for 3 months and offers the chance to contribute to a range of housing and property sector brands, producing high-quality creative work for both print and digital channels. The rate is negotiable.

What you'll do

• Develop strong concepts and produce eye-catching design solutions across branding, campaigns, and digital work
• Turn creative briefs into clear visual concepts and polished finished assets
• Design brand identities, style guides, brochures, signage, social media creatives, and marketing collateral
• Maintain consistency and high standards across all customer-facing brand materials
• Share work confidently and adapt based on feedback
• Work closely with designers, writers, strategists, and client-facing teams
• Provide guidance and support to junior designers when needed
• Apply awareness of housing and property audiences, trends, and market context

What we're looking for

• Background in a creative agency or a busy in-house creative environment
• A compelling portfolio showing experience in branding, layout, digital design, and typography
• Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, plus good planning and organisation
• Ability to stay accurate, focused, and effective when working under pressure
• A mix of imaginative thinking and commercial judgement
• Prior exposure to housing or property work would be an advantage

This is a freelance / temporary contract based in Colchester, England, United Kingdom. The role is intended as summer cover, and the employer is seeking someone who can start quickly and contribute immediately.
