Farm Greenhouse Associate

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

At Pike Farms, we prioritize associate growth and offer hands-on experience across all greenhouse areas. As a Greenhouse Associate, you will work closely in departments such as shipping, production, and plant maintenance. After completing the initial 90 days, associates are assigned to a specific department, allowing them to develop comprehensive skills in greenhouse management and contribute significantly to the facility's success.

Knowledge and Skills

• Previous experience in greenhouse environments is an advantage.
• A genuine passion for plants and gardening is essential.
• Familiarity with retail merchandising and stocking is beneficial.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to remain on your feet and move throughout the greenhouse for the entire shift.
• Capacity to undertake physical activities involving arms, legs, and full body movements such as lifting, bending, reaching, walking, pushing, and pulling carts, as well as handling and sorting materials.
• Repeatedly lifting weights between 5 to 10 pounds is required.
• Ability to endure hot, humid greenhouse environments and various outdoor weather conditions.

Safety and Work Environment

• The role involves extensive physical activity including lifting (up to 50 lbs unassisted), stooping, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, pulling, pushing, reaching overhead, and walking.
• Walking and standing will take up most of the workday.
• The work is primarily outdoors, with occasional indoor activities.
