About the Role
MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas is inviting a dynamic leader to join as the Executive Director of Entertainment Strategy and Development. This role is critical in overseeing and steering internal teams and external partners to optimize profits across all facets of the entertainment portfolio including operations, marketing, ticketing, and finance. Additionally, the role drives strategic planning for future entertainment initiatives at locations like Dubai and Japan, collaborating closely with partners and internal teams to ensure alignment with the Entertainment Center of Excellence's vision and goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Set strategic direction, provide leadership and oversee key performance indicators (KPIs) and budgets for the entertainment division at MGM Resorts.
- Lead planning for annual and five-year entertainment and sports budgets in partnership with division senior leaders and corporate financial planning and analysis teams, including monthly reporting.
- Serve as a primary contributor to defining entertainment and sports strategies for development projects and upcoming resorts.
- Conduct research on emerging entertainment trends and new formats for potential inclusion in MGM's offerings.
- Manage business development endeavors for new entertainment projects by identifying partners, performing due diligence, business planning, and negotiating agreements and concepts.
- Work with senior leadership to detect underperformance areas and formulate mitigation measures, fostering a culture of innovation that drives continuous improvement.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to implement division initiatives aimed at achieving department objectives.
- Collaborate extensively with both internal and external leaders regarding processes, positioning, and new entertainment offerings developed alongside entertainment partners.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline; an MBA is preferred.
- Has over six years of leadership experience in entertainment, venue operations, hospitality, or related fields, ideally within large-scale resorts.
- Demonstrates a history of managing multiple venues or partnerships, handling complex projects, and converting strategic visions into practical results.
- Exhibits strong business acumen, analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple demands independently.
- Is an outstanding communicator and relationship builder, adept at influencing senior leaders and collaborating cross-functionally.
- Possesses a results-oriented approach with solid project management skills, serving as a trusted strategic advisor to executives and property leadership.
