Role Summary

The Estimation Engineer - Civil position is a full-time role based in Doha, Qatar, requiring on-site presence with flexibility for limited remote work. The primary responsibility is to develop detailed cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) specifically for interior fit-out and civil construction work. This involves scrutinizing drawings and tender documents, performing quantity take-offs, analyzing costs related to labor, materials, and subcontractors, and collaborating extensively with design, project management, and procurement departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare precise cost estimations and Bills of Quantities for interior fit-out and civil works projects.
• Review technical drawings and tender documentation thoroughly to ensure comprehensive quantity assessments.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of labor, materials, and subcontracting expenses.
• Coordinate with project teams including design, management, and procurement to align estimates and project scope.
• Assist in bid preparation and tender submissions.
• Support negotiation processes with suppliers and subcontractors relating to pricing and contract terms.
• Maintain and update cost databases through continuous market research and benchmarking.
• Monitor project cost performance compared to the initial estimates.
• Contribute actively to value engineering initiatives and cost reduction strategies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Proven capabilities in preparing Bill of Quantities and project cost estimations including quantity take-offs.
• Strong foundation in civil engineering concepts, construction methodologies, materials, and interior fit-out processes.
• Experience in negotiation with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders on pricing and contractual terms.
• Ability to conduct market research for accurate cost benchmarking and data-driven estimation.
• Proficiency in estimation and quantity surveying software along with advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail with high accuracy in numerical data and ability to meet tight deadlines within team settings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Arabic language proficiency is a beneficial addition.
• Relevant work experience in interior fit-out, construction, or civil projects preferably within the Middle East region.
