Role Overview

The Engineering Director will lead the Mobile Infrastructure team responsible for the technical backbone of OKX's app used by millions daily. This leadership role focuses on owning the engineering systems, tools, and frameworks that empower mobile teams to deliver quickly and confidently. The director will set the technical path, drive architectural decisions, and embed AI technologies into development and operations practices to improve quality and velocity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of mobile infrastructure engineers, promoting ownership and accountability.
• Define the technical strategy for mobile infrastructure including tooling, shared frameworks, performance systems, and developer experience.
• Advocate and integrate AI tools across workflows such as code generation, testing, reviewing, and incident analysis.
• Make architecture and engineering standard decisions ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with product engineering teams to deliver infrastructure solutions and enhance overall engineering quality.
• Manage performance engineering focusing on memory usage, package size, startup times, and UI rendering for millions of users.
• Work with cross-functional teams including product, design, backend, and security to align platform objectives.
• Serve as the technical authority on complex infrastructure matters, ensuring mobile platform robustness and scalability.

Required Qualifications

• Over 8 years in mobile engineering with at least 3 years in a leadership role focusing on infrastructure, platform, or architecture.
• Proven leadership in engineering teams with strong technical judgment and motivation.
• In-depth knowledge of iOS or Android development with strong insight into mobile platform layers including performance and developer tooling.
• Practical experience using AI tools integrated within engineering workflows.
• Excellent communication and ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
• Effective decision-making skills in fast-changing and ambiguous environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience heading mobile architecture or infrastructure teams specialized in platform development.
• Successful track record optimizing performance metrics like memory, startup time, and rendering.
• Experience incorporating AI-driven features or tools into team-level workflows.
• Familiarity with cross-platform mobile frameworks such as React Native or Flutter.
• Background in fintech, crypto, or large-scale consumer application environments.
