Job Overview
The Electrical Engineer will deliver comprehensive electrical engineering services, including determining power load requirements and creating detailed working drawings for exterior electrical systems, interior electrical installations, and site lighting. This role supports the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is situated at Al Udeid Air Base (AUAB), Doha, Qatar.
Key Duties
- Ensure compliance with local and applicable electrical codes and communication requirements as reflected in project documentation.
- Participate in project meetings and investigative or development taskings related to assigned projects.
- Review and analyze electrical power distribution systems, drawings, and specifications, ensuring alignment with relevant codes and standards.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Expertise in analyzing electrical power distribution systems and reviewing related documentation for code compliance.
- Experience with airfield lighting systems and power generation equipment is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, project planning, management, design interpretation, and construction oversight.
- Effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to perform entire design services, including electric power distribution networks, load calculations, and lighting design.
- Familiarity with design review, project mobilization, quality assurance, safety protocols, project controls, and capture management.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD 2025 or newer for creating accurate facility and infrastructure plans aligned to project requirements.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction or facility maintenance related to electrical engineering.
- Must qualify for and maintain a SECRET US Government Clearance; US citizenship is mandatory for clearance eligibility.
Physical and Work Environment
- Work in potentially remote and challenging conditions at assigned locations.
- Capable of enduring long working hours, exposure to adverse weather, and hazardous environments.
- Preparedness for sudden moves under difficult conditions as required.
- Readiness to travel both domestically and internationally.
Additional Information
The role involves a standard office environment with occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, continuous computer workstation usage, frequent document review requiring good vision, ongoing communication via speech and hearing, strong mental focus, and ability to meet deadlines with effective planning and organizational skills.
