Deli Associate

Overview

Joining Walmart Canada as a Deli Associate offers an excellent chance to build experience in the retail sector. In this role, you deliver outstanding customer service in line with Walmart’s core values, maintain the deli area’s cleanliness and organization, manage inventory, and assist with sales operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and zone the deli department effectively.
• Perform stock rotation and monitor product expiration dates.
• Ensure all merchandise is accurately labeled with pricing.
• Comply with all regulations and standards related to cold chain management, including thermometer calibration, temperature logging, proper food handling, and product rotation.
• Take and prepare orders including slicing meats and cheeses, fried chicken preparation, and other deli merchandise.
• Support front-end associates with price verification requests.
• Use equipment such as slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers to prepare deli items and specialty customer orders.
• Maintain a tidy, clean, and hazard-free deli environment by removing debris, and managing liquids and objects in the workspace.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $16.45 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
